Meeting With My Group

Meeting Record Sheet

Meetings mostly took place online through Microsoft Teams. During the meetings we spoke about who was doing what, what needed to be done and how we were all doing with the project. This was really helpful for all of us for teamwork and communication to prove to everyone that this group is successful. When we were discussing more casual meanings, such as meeting times and documents, we would meet on Snapchat. Unfortunately, Snapchat has a privacy setting where after 24 hours the chat automatically deletes. There is no recollection of our meetings. Next time we will learn to communicate on other platforms such as Instagram or Facebook Messenger so we have proof of our discussions.

Communication With Cast

Group Communication
Cast Communication

Most of the people we wanted to interview were either not within our class or lived far away. In order to contact people quickly without having to meet face to face, we communicated online through different social media platforms. This was the most efficient way of discussing timings, dates and subjects with the cast. When it came to gathering forms from the interviewees, we contacted them through email, by us sending the documents and them sending them back completed. Me and Connor used Instagram to speak to each other whilst filming the interview on teams so he had the questions written down in front of him as I asked them. This helped when the internet connection became faulty. Below, is a range of messages with us and the cast on various platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat:

Lucy-

"The loading screen thing that you used was really cool and the upbeat music made it really engaging. Its a different take on the brief nut it was really good and really funny, I also liked that you changed it up and filmed it in portrait instead of landscape. The only thing I could say that would be bad is that it was a bit over the duration Ray gave us but honestly I didn't even notice because it kept me entertained the whole way through and he said the duration doesn't matter too much anyway. But overall, I really liked it I thought it was great!"

Feedback

Feedback

The feedback I got from Lucy was exactly the response I was looking for from the Audience when creating this Documentary. The main purpose of this film was to make people laugh by entertaining them, Lucy agreed that it succeeded its purpose by saying "it was really good and really funny". I love the fact that she noticed the portrait changeup. When further asking her about her opinion on this she said, "it would make the video suitable to Facebook or Instagram maybe". I had never though of it in that way but I agree that the Documentary would suit those platforms as it is an on the go film. The criticism I gained from this Feedback was about the duration. I understood that it went over the time, but again felt like it needed to not feel rushed. I understand that next time I should keep to the duration brief, as that is an important professional skill I need to keep to for further jobs.

Izzie-

"Really entertaining and I think I smiled the entire time. The quality of the video wasn't the best but I don't think that matters because I was paying so much attention to what you were saying and I also understand the constraints from working from home on your own. I got a good sense of your personality and culture In the video and it was very wholesome. I think it was a very good video and I enjoyed watching it. I think there wasn't much editing involved but once again I don't think it was needed for the type of video you were trying to make."

Izzie helped me to gain the truthful criticism I needed. She begins with talking about the positives about how she "smiled the entire time" and "got a good sense of your personality and culture". This made me overjoyed that she confirms with Lucy that my Documentary achieved its targets. She then goes on to discuss the poor quality of the video and the simple editing. I decided when creating this film that I wanted it to feel like a home video with no dramatic graphics or transitions. I didn't want the Audience to focus on the style of the video but instead the meaning behind it. Izzie understood this and goes on to say that further on in the feedback. She then touches up on the bad quality of the video. Unfortunately, I do agree with her that it is not a good standard. This is most likely a mixture of my phone camera quality and the exporting of the video from Premiere Rush as I had complications trying to render the Documentary. I have took this feedback up and have decided to use better lighting and different editing software for my next project.
